I'm at 34 now.

Fellow I work with just hit 50, Oregon was his last (!).  Said that when you hit like 45, you just get the fever and need to finish them.

My fever started at 8 in Sea World when there was a large map of the US and I stepped on every state and said "I'm going to all 50!" At that point, I had only been to 8 states. It only took me 14 more years to accomplish my goal :-)

Wyoming and Montana. If I had to pick one, it would be Wyoming.

I think least favorite is a harder question to answer!

What did you like the most about Wyoming?

It was quiet, beautiful and calm.
Jackson-hole was surreal, the new Marriott a pleasure to stay in, and the city square was a delight.
Activities, while expensive, were able to be enjoyed with my daughter (2.5).
And the parks, oh the parks!

We did Alaska for the nine days this year and it didn't measure up to Grand Teton. The views and animal life were unbelievable.

Where in Alaska were you? I found the scenery there way more epic than WY. Not as picture-perfect, but waaay more majestic and never-ending.

Good point.
We were there for the nine days so we didn't get to take any boat rides or helicopters to glaciers. Plus we had a 6 month old and 2.5 year old.
The bulk of the time we were in Anchorage, a few nights in Wasilla and a day in Seward.
I guess its not fair to put Alaska down like that without really seeing it, especially because i was there in the summer.

Yeah, well, Anchorage and Wassila, the two most boring places in Alaska ;D.

Give it some more time in Seward, drive the Glenn Highway, or go to Kenai Fjords, Denali, or points even further north and you'll see the real Alaska.
