3 best credit cards out there.
« on: January 13, 2013, 03:27:33 PM »
I have good credit and can apply for pretty much any card, although I'd like to only have about 3 credit cards.  I am a seldom traveler (about 2-3 times a year max) so I would like to have great points or cash back unless the miles are  awesome and are worth the most.  What are the 3 top recommended cards?  thanks!

What do you spend most of your money on?

I'd say the Chase Sapphire Preferred is a top 3.

I actually have the CSpreferred for the great bonus they offered, but the free year is up and is the $95 annual fee really worth it?

You can close it down and open it again. Not sure how much spend you put on the card but you will receive a 7% bonus soon in February on all points you've earned.

If you spend on gas and groceries maybe Blue Cash Preferred would work for you...

so I used to have Amex Blue - but it was like .05% for the first $3000 and then 1% after that only on their main categories with .05% on everything else....    Is that the same card you are talking about?

it is a big deal 3 hits for one lousy card. op seems like he has had other cards in the past. crapital one is an inferior card so why take 3 hits for such a bad card? if you love there 1% cashback why not go discover who only hits 1 cr (usually eq) and has rotating 5%and has shopdiscover

side note cap one is imposible to deal with if you ever mess up aka a 30 day late on your cr(which will really hurt your credit) to get removed with them is close to impossible

If you want a straight up cash back card, look into the Priceline visa which essentially gives you 2% cash back or the Fidelity Amex for 2% cash back.
