Centro isn't available for the longest, try eBay.
So what's next?
What else can I get?

For quick and easy texting any thoughts on LG Octane vs. Cosmos 3? Any other recommendations?
I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.

It certainly depends in your own taste...but I'd say slide-out is much more practical than fold-up.

Probably right. A friend has the Octane and the keyboard is a bit cramped. I'm wondering if the Cosmos is any less?

Also my current old phone with Sprint doesn't stay connected to car Bluetooth. I tested Octane and it doesn't have that problem. Anyone know if Cosmo 3 will have that problem? Is there some Bluetooth specification to look for to avoid the problem?

The Cosmos is a tiny bit less cramped, but obviously, it is not a computer keyboard... ::)

I've seen people connecting the Cosmos to car Bluetooth, but it might be a specific issue with your car's model and specific infotainment system, and the Octane might also have problems with some cars...so it is impossible to say.

I'm guessing you've seen them in the flesh not just pictures online?

Thanks. If it helps it's a 2015 Camry.

Right, used them, albeit not as my own device.

My son is looking to use a non smartphone as an MP3 player.  ( there are very few MP3 players on the market and they Are not so cheap either so he thought this would be a good alternative )
I won't get him something with wifi capabilities.
I saw that the cosmos is listed as having a browser.
Is that a  real browser?  Can you really use it?
Anyone have other ideas or phones to reccomend?

The cosmos has a browser which works when/if a line is put on. you can bring it to TAG to have it disabled. Alternatively, you can purchase a Sansa Clip Voice for $53 on eBay

The Cowon J3 is pretty good, but it's discontinued. I got mine on ebay.
Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.

And fm radio from Sansa mp3 players, which are excellent pieces. My kids had them and I removed it myself with some online research (just need to find the correct firmware.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

That depends on the version. Some they need to open and cut something.

Sansa Clip Voice is just voice nothing else it is a new model from Sansa. No radio or anything else, rumor has it that it was made for one of the Jewish stores.

Looking for dumb phone with easy texting. Which is an easier keyboard to type quickly on LG Cosmos 3 or LG Octane?

Honestly, it is a matter of personal preference. I think that swipe out keyboard (Cosmos 3) is much easier to use quickly than a flip-open-in-the-width keyboard.

The octane has the advantage of a larger screen inside

Bigger screen space maybe... The screen itself is marginally bigger (2.6" to 2" for the Cosmos) and the exact same resolution as the Cosmos which means that it fits about the same amount of stuff.
