Are you saying they (refs) got the rules wrong? That if it was not intentional (hit to the head that caused injury) it should have been a minor according to the rules?

No, the "severity of impact" rule is meant to be subjective and up the refs discretion, so they were within the rules, yet I still think a minor was more appropriate. To conclude, it wasn't a terrible call and officially it was not the wrong call, but a minor would've been the better call IMHO.

I think you are forgetting about he was injured on the play due to a head shot. Head shot rules are more severe for obvious reasons.

I'm not forgetting that.
Injuring a player isn't an automatic suspension or game misconduct, the hit still has to be malicious or reckless.

Big win for the Rangers last night.

Back to Crosby, he's out for game 4, and if you ask me, he's probably out for the playoffs, maybe he'll be back for the SCF if he's lucky. Meanwhile, if the Caps can't win this series with Crosby, Letang, and Sheary all injured, they really need to blow things up. There's no better opportunity than right now.

great win! Cant remember the last time the Rangers dominated a playoff game like that start to finish. I am a little worried about game 4 though. Gotta come out with the same intensity

Actually they only dominated in the 1st period, 2nd and 3rd were played pretty equal with 2 big gaffes by Ottawa.
Either way was a great game, one of their best played.

I'd say they outplayed the Sens in the 2nd and 3rd as well. Not as much as in the 1st though.

I feel pretty confident that the Rangers will win again tomorrow night, and win the series as well.
And I'm feeling a lot more confident playing whoever comes out of the Pit-Was series.

Though AV has to continue limiting Staal-Holden's ice time after using them as a 2nd line pairing this playoffs (until game 3) despite getting completely outplayed all game. Skjei-Smith have been fantastic and need to be on the ice a lot more. Lindberg and Buchnevich also only played 5 minutes in the 85 minute game 2 which is completely unacceptable. If he rewards the best players with more ice time and is able to make positive in-game adjustments the Rangers will win.

They've been the better team in all 3 games (although I didnt really watch the 2nd game but seems like it was just an inability to close). Game 1 they were only outplayed in the 1st period and gave up a lousy goal.

I don't think they were better in game 1, it was pretty even but a fluke goal decided the game. But then again they need to be scoring more than 1 goal on Anderson to win. Game 2 they played better most of the game, but AV shortened the bench, benched Skjei and Smith in the end of the 3rd despite scoring 2 goals and having a great game to put out Staal and Holden who have been terrible and on the ice for almost every goal against. There's no surprise that Ottawa was able to steal the game when playing 6 on 3. And of course Holden pinched on the GWG in OT.
