Order it slow boat instead of prime and you can switch the payment method to GC as long it hasn't started shipping.
Just applied the gift cards via chat. Order was not showing eligible to change payment but chat guy did it.

I thought so too. But I recently bought banana republic shoes that were too narrow until I fit comfortably into them about a day later. For $40 it was worth it.
