It isn't 5 applications its 5 recent active cc acounts
-1 It means 5 accounts opened in the past 24 months (even if you closed them)
I've had my cards for awhile, I don't think I'm over 5/24
Any accounts opened more than 24 months ago don't count.

whats the best card for balance transfers? trying to consolidate my cc balances into one convenient place to pay it down asap and not pay high interest rates.
(Got denied for the Citi Simplicity card for some unknown reason, have a 700+ score)

One of my BoA cards has a pretty good Balance transfer promo right now, if I would request a credit increase would that result in a credit pull?

First go back and check the number of cards from all banks combined that you opened within the last 24 months, if it is over the 5/24 ??? I got declined for the Reserve , had 6 new accounts within 24 months, I'll just wait till the oldest one drops from the report before trying again

Forgive my very uneducated question but I'm finally looking into a rewards card. Until now i always used cashback since I had no intention of flying anywhere given the current circumstances.

So, I was looking at the wiki of this thread and again, forgive my naivete, these 2 links looked promising but when i clicked on them they both error out:

So what am I missing?

If they are both no longer valid, would anyone be so kind and tell me what I should go for instead?

Thanks
If it's not free shipping it's not worth it.

Just noticed that the Hyatt card's threshold was upped to $2k over 3 months. I made the change to the wiki but wanted to post for visibility as well.

Which credit cards have trip insurance?  Is it trip insurance- or something less?
To activate it, I can use it to pay the fee portion of a mileage ticket - correct?

For cash back or mileage/points that will be sold, what do people view as the best card. Expected to be used for very heavy spending per month and paying balance in full.

The question may have been asked all the time, but why is it so hard to come up with an answer?

MR are probably going to be the easiest points for you to sell on a regular basis so the blue for business is probably going to be your best bet and add a BP for when you max your credit limit out.

1) SPG vs. SPG biz.
2) Amex Plat vs. Plat biz.

I want to cancel/downgrade one of each.
Any reasons why biz is better/worse than the personal for each of the above comparisons?

Having owned both Personal Plat and Biz Plat for a year, I find the big difference with Personal Plat is that you can book directly with airlines to get 5x points in addition to the benefits highlighted in post above, whereas Biz Plat, you need to go through AMEX travel to get 5x points.  The other big difference is whether you have any charges over $5,000 which the Biz Plat gives you 1.5x on points which I find very useful.  If you aren't utilizing that feature, many of the benefits seem duplicative or more around the edges and may or may not justify the additional annual fee.

To be honest, I value the priceline extra cancellation window (if you time it right it can be 48 hours) to be worth more than the 2 points/dollar that i'd gain using a plat over a prestige.  Combined with the prestige's lost baggage protection which reimbursed me for lost tefillin once--I just don't use the amex plat for airfare.

Which credit card should I open (or decide between) for a business (NY/NJ area) that needs to buy a lot of gas for many vehicles?
We have amex plat biz, ink prefered, Ink cash, Amex Gold & another amex plat biz. Or should we be using one of the ones we have had opened for 3+yrs (all cards have been opened and used for 3+ yrs and are used regularly)
TIA.

(should we consider opening a shell card and go directly for the "fuel rewards" program)

Look for a secured card to build your credit.
