For HQ, stay away from the packaged-all-in-one, do-it-yourself kits.
Stay away from no-name products from companies like Qsee, Swann, and Lorex
For a 3-4 camera system I recomend an 8 Channel DVR.
-First, if you have the DVR and system set up, and you want to add a camera, but you only have a 4 channel, you can't.
-Second, the 4 channel DVR's are cr@p. They do not have as many features as the 8,9, and 16 channel ones.
-Third, its better for your buck. a good 4 channel is $500, and a good 9 channel is $800.
