Use of Emoticons
« on: March 05, 2013, 03:06:04 PM »
So if anyone was following the tragic news thread...there is a discussion on what the use of each emoticon is.
So Dan suggested a thread...
Anyone want to make a thread detailing what they use each one for :D
Who wants to start?  :) ;) :D ;D >:( :( :o 8)  ??? ::) :P :-[ :-X :-\ :-*  :'( O0
It's not about the quantity of your posts.  It's about the quality.

I'm sure there are plenty of lonely people looking for love on DDF.  Plus, there are  45 eligibles on the forums http://forums.dansdeals.com/index.php?topic=2619.0
(minus about 40 for those of us who clicked to see the results)
If you don't care why would you comment?

When your hover over each one, the alt text comes up and describes what it is. Why the need for a thread to figure it out?

The grin is a sort of mocking smile, not one of glee.

He looks pretty happy to me.

You use it whenever you would is it in real life. Cheesy? When someone says something cheesy. Grin? When something would make you grin in real life and etc.
