Id go Kowloon cuz of the convenience of being next door to Shul/ restaurant.
And where would you stay? HR seems like a hassle and Intercontinental isn't showing any available rooms for some reason.

Makes sense, thanks. What about for Thursday, does it make sense to splurge for the Ritz?

agreed. I only stayed at the Sheraton to use my SPG plat and to help me requalify. If that is not an issue then just use CSR to book Shangri La unless the rate is very high. The people who stay at the shangri la swear by it.

The Shangri La is beautiful and that would always be my #1 choice in Kalwoon. If you do not want to splurge than you can stay in hotels like the Intercontinental, New World Millenium or Royal Garden...
:-)

Didn't get around to a TR.
We loved the shul, absolutely wonderful and inspiring shabbos at Chabad and great food. Plus its walkable to the JCC restaurants.

We switched to the W after shabbos as our hotel in HKI was super ghetto.

I understand that the shul community consists more of locals at HKI vs tourists at Kowloon, so makes sense you would enjoy.

Do you remember where you stayed?

Yup, loved that aspect and that it didn't feel like a tourist trap shaking down people for big donations.

We were young, cheap, foolish and stayed at the Garden View next to Chabad. Do not stay there.
If you want someplace right next to Chabad you can look into: http://twomr.com.hk/

Chabad should have other recommendations on their site.

I have booked in the Royal Garden because I had some free nights on Hotels.com and I didn't think the Sheraton was a good use of my SPG points.  The Royal Garden also looks right next to the shul?  Is that correct?  Anyone here stayed there for Shabbos and can comment on the stairs, locks, etc.?

CSR travel is only showing club rooms for $525 a night which is obscene, Shangri-La has basic rooms for $358 which is a lot more reasonable but they're not showing up on chase for some reason.

What’s the closest shul walking distance to the airport express train line? Anywhere to eat breakfast?
