what date is it closing?

The InterContinental Hong Kong will be closing for a period of 12-16 months so it can be completely transformed. The hotel is expected to close in the first quarter of 2019.

Cool.

I guess for hki lovers it’s a solid option especially for Shabbat

I must be the only DDFer that went with HKI for shabbos.

I loved HKI for shabbos - but what i found best is to do both Chabad and the JCC and even the Sefardi Shul.

If there is a Kiddush at the JCC or the Sefardi shull by day - that is not worth missing.... If nothing is going on - sure head to chabad.

Both have interesting guests/business people and nice vibes.

Sorry to ask such a silly question but I can't seem to find the info online (none of the JCC links are working) and don't see on Facebook or other sites.  I'm trying to plan our days and meals there, does anyone know the hours of the meat and dairy restaurants at the JCC.  Specifically the dairy restaurant (Seven Zero) on Fridays and the exact time of the meat buffet on Sunday afternoon?  We are literally flying out Monday instead of Sunday to go that Sunday BBQ so I don't want to screw up and miss it!

Also, I'm going with kids 5-13, anything besides Victoria's Peak, the Ferry and the Laser Show that kids might particularly like? We arrive at 6AM on Friday and I was thinking to drop bags (and hopefully check in at the hotel) then take the ferry to HKI, do Victoria's peak, have a dairy lunch and then have time to rest and get ready for Shabbat.  Motzei Shabbat, I thought we could just walk around, see the light show, maybe go to a market to walk around.

Any suggestions for Sunday morning/early afternoon with the kids?  TIA!

I think from their website.  Here is where I saw it:
https://www.np360.com.hk/en/

Btw, you can get food delivered from the JCC dairy and meat restaurants to HKI hotels with https://www.honestbee.hk/ and they offer a credit for your first order. Although I still can't find the hours!  :-\

Good find. That can save a boatload of time if you're in Kowloon and want food from the JCC.

We were there in May 2017 and the Sunday BBQ buffet started at 5 pm. It was amazing; great food and so much of it. We made reservations in advance via email. Not sure if required, but may be advisable if possible. Also, bring your passports, as security is very strict.
You may want to check when things open at the Peak, and if you’re near KZ consider stopping in first for Shachris and breakfast. I don’t know about Friday lunch hours at JCC, but note that you can find Haagen Daaz with an OU at the ubiquitous 7-11’s in HK.
Sunday option for kids may be HK Disneyland, less than 30 minutes by taxi, but pricey. We didn’t go there, but I imagine your kids will love it.

Thanks for all the great tips! While I’m emailing to reserve the Sunday buffet, I’ll try to get the hours and add to the wiki!

Actually when I put my Kowloon hotel it wouldn’t give the JCC restaurants as an option so I tried from the Conrad on HKI instead. A great option though if people are staying at the new St. Regis or other HKI hotels.

Landing at 7pm, any chance of getting to the JCC for the buffet before closing at 9?

I think it’s worth a try, but the tight security may prohibit entry into the JCC building with luggage.

Incorrect. I entered the building with luggage.
