btw, it's definitely doable. You take the airport express train that takes about 10 minutes to the city center (admiralylT if I remember correctly the name) then you take a taxi which is around 5 minutes. I would still call them to tell them.

Seems like it's around 24 minutes on the train and 10 minutes by taxi.

No luggage. And you rush.
Your safer having food delivered to your room.
Won't have luggage. Either way I'm probably not gonna go to HKI now, thinking about the Hyatt regency near KZ. Who would deliver there?

Try Mul HaYam, open until 10:30 pm for sit down or take out:
http://www.kehilat-zion.org/restaurant.php
You could also daven Maariv in the adjacent Shul, even if you miss the minyan.

Though personally I thought Mul Hayam was overpriced and the portions small. The J restaurants were much better.

I'm barely there for 24 hrs and I'd rather not spend extra time just to get better food. I can get food anywhere.
And assuming it takes 45 minutes to get out of the airport and yet another 45 to get in the door of the JCC that's giving me half hr until closing.

What will you do instead that evening that you can't do if you go to the J?

They don't deliver, but being that they are open to 10 that should be enough for me.

Night markets you'll get to anyway.

Emkay, I’m still trying to understand the context. You won’t have any luggage, in HK for only 24 hours, and obviously first time since you mentioned seeing the light show. Sounds like a stopover, but why no luggage. If you will be heading to certain places in China then you can skip the night markets. If you want to share your plans for the entire 24 hour visit in context perhaps we can all weigh in with advice.

Is that a joke?

1. Does he have to do customs? Or does he have apec or hkft? Lines could be 40+ mins at busy times
2. Does he have to wait for his luggage?
3. Which gate does he land in HK airport could take 15 mins to walk and train in the airport if he’s on the other side!
4. Train and taxi takes much more than your anticipated 15 mins
5. All that’s without him making a wrong turn in Hk on his first trip.
6. No time to change money?

Probably headed to Vietnam after, landing in HKG at 7 PM and leaving the next day at 4:50 PM.
I have no plans currently.
I like food.
I like markets.
I like local experiences more than food.

The local HKG experiences are mostly tourist traps, but are still enjoyable.

Night market
Peak tram
Star ferry
Glass bottom cable car.

You should be able to cover all of that and dinner at the J.

I guess I'll try depending on how the time goes.
