can you cancel award ticket within 24 hours  (W/O penalty) for Copa award booked thru united.com?
Yes. You can cancel any award ticket booked on united.com within 24 hours without penalty.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Booking Travel insurance for a trip that I booked with miles- Was told to calculate cost by how much the miles are worth. What does United value miles at? And can someone link to where it shows that info on their site?

TIA!

United sells points for 3.5 cents each. I’d say that’s a fair evaluation for insurance purposes.

Isnt there somewhere they place a value on them? I feel like I've seen that. Maybe when they are earned through bonus? Or at least when they are prizes type things ??

UA award booked before 11/1 devaluation. Trying to change flights, UA is saying need additional miles as per new chart. What to do?

Problem is online and over the phone.

Asked for manager?
Might only work with same O/D cities.

This was a family member doing the booking. Reached Singapore call center. Was put on hold for a while and then they came back saying that they have to charge the miles. I don't think a manager or supervisor actually got on the phone.

Try to reach US call center.
Reachable now?

Best number/time to reach?

Also, any way around the change/rebook fee?

Try to reach US call center.
I haven't made the calls myself, but rather left it to the person traveling.

Called US call center and was told: "whenever the price increases prior to change, even if that's an increase in required miles, you need to pay the difference. I believe you were already told about this".

Any hope? Any better strategy?

Reservation is on hold, exact same itinirary as previously, just different date. Paging @Dan any hope for mercy at time of ticketing, or anything else to try? Any good number to call?

BH got a good call center and good rep. Didn't charge miles and not even change fee.

No, unless it was a medical emergency or family issues that can be proven with documentation.
