just to share an experience I went thru today maybe this can be helpful to others. sat night I needed to book a flight to Israel for my dad and when I searched I was able to find a EWR-TLV non stop for 75K for tonight's 11pm flight but on Sunday my dad said there was no need to fly and that I should cancel. it was hard clicking on the cancel button as I know to find that availability is extremely rare but bh the reason for the cancellation was a good one. today however my dad called saying that he indeed needed to go to Israel tonight and he wanted to know if I can still book that flight? I checked on the website and availability was gone for that flight so I called and the rep said no ( as expected) then I asked for a supervisor and after waiting for half an hour on phone she was able to grant me the award ticket for the same amount of points. she sais she will make a "one time exception" for me- I was soo happy. I had to pay the booking fee but def worth it!has this ever happen to anyone?
75k?? Is that the new pricing?
For J? No.
Actually it is. Used to be 70k. (Moshe26 also didn't write J anywhere).
Can I transfer Chase UR from my account to my brother's United account? He's not an authorized user or household member. Tried searching but the results didn't match the query.
No but you could transfer from your UR to his UR
Yes, yes
if they cancel my return then it wont work, is there any way around that?
I hear, is there a tutorial somewhere on upgrading a fare class you already purchased?
All I can suggest is, if award space opens, it means probably also upgrade space is open, upgrade the outbound fareclass to W or higher if you're not already there and buy a GPU (they're $400 on Ebay) Will probably be cheaper overall then booking a new ticket with points.
You just got it...
booked Ewr-Tlv (via Zrh) in J on UA award. Ewr-Zrh is in J, while Zrh-Tlv remained Y. how do I get them to upgrade the second leg, if it opens up? the ticket is already booked...
