Wireless Router
« on: March 20, 2013, 01:20:02 AM »
I have a TWO PC's connected to my router as well as my ooma phone.  I also enjoy having my S3 and laptop on Wifi.  Unfortunately my brand new router is horrible.  I currently have a Linksys E1500 Wireless-N Router with SpeedBoost.  It is horrible.

What would you recommend for a router.  I heard that the apple routers are amazing, but I have a PC does that make a difference and is it worth the price?

Thanks in advance

Yes, Apple routers are great. And they will work perfectly fine with your PC. Get the Airport Express. $95. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B008ALA2RC/?tag=cl03f-20
An added bonus is that you will have Airplay if you have any iDevices.

Highly doubt they'll take it back. Maybe you can get some trade in value.

Amazon
I've had success with returning a product close to a year old. As long as u come up with a decent story you can usually get them to make a "one time exception" for the return. Their reps are usually kind and flexible and after telling them nicely a few times you don't really like there first and second offer,(ie partial refund etc.) they will usually give you what you want.
In 2 such cases they charged me a restocking fee, but I recontacted them and said I was promised a full refund, which they quickly fixed.

In general with contacting amazon for a favorable outcome I find email to be the best, then comes phone and worst is chat.

Anyone with experience flashing a router?
I have a Cisco Valet(M10), and I want to replace the annoying Valet firmware.

Check if its supported by alternative router firmware like DDWRT or Tomato.

Never had a problem with Buffalo routers.
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half
