« on: March 21, 2013, 09:16:26 AM »
Does anyone have any tips on how i can sleep without having my beard dig into my face all night (other than shaving it off).

Every so often i decide to grow out my beard. Other than having food getting stuck in my beard, sleeping is a nightmare.

Four months was the longest i kept it. Don't think i can commit to longer, especially if i want to stay married.
other than sleeping on my back and staring at the ceiling, i cannot think of a solution to stop the 'side cheek beard in pillow/bed' issue.

Do you sleep with your beard under the cover or above?

Maybe if i had kept the beard from my initial beard growing years, my cheek muscles would be more developed.

Well the study should probably be longer than 6 years. I will try and document it for future generations.

After reading this article, it is possible that due to my shaving habits, my beard is now thicker and more coarse, leading to a more painful sleep..

People that shave don't understand how someone can keep such an itchy beard their whole life, but it is itchy because they shave...

Had a beard my whole life and it never bothered me.

I don't shave or trim, what is the best way to keep my beard neat?

I use a brush and bobby pins, but it still does not seem to keep all of it in check. How do I get the whole beard to stay neat against my face? Cold cream?

Could take time to find one you like, but it really does wonders. Makes it straighter, softer etc... Just read the label :P Try it out for a week, see if it helps.

Feel free to ask your wife, mother etc. for tips ;)

Wife and mother don't have a beard  ;D

Beard hair is much coarser and tougher than head hair. Head hair is easier to tame, because it falls naturally, and you are not trying to press it against your head. Yes, there are "bad hair days", but overall, there is nothing that a shower, blow dryer and brush can't do. Beard hair is a different animal, because it's almost like you don't want it to be there, but you want to make the best of it since it's there. Now, for those who trim, it's pretty easy, but for those who don't it's tough.

Thanks for the tip on conditioner, I will give it a shot.
