Because it's not illegal, just a beach of contact (which you may even be allowed to do, as long as you follow what the contact delineates if you beach it)
Life isn't about checking the boxes. Nobody cares.

Did you call corporate and ask if that's even legal?

Does legal only refer to a criminal legality? Why can't a breach of contract be civilly illeagal? Or something like that.

Anyway why do you think it is required and not just a suggested idea?

Maybe this location was a franchise before the free day started?

I can think of all sorts of reasons.

Its a pretty new location

It is, AFAIK.

Also, wouldn't be a question of legality per se, but simply breach of franchise agreement.
From the Corp. website linked on the main site
" Free small Slurpee drinks -- That’s a full 12 ounces, almost double the previous years’ 7.11-ounce size. Offered from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. local time on Thursday, July 11, at participating 7-Eleven® stores in the U.S. and Canada"

@ybeeds I can't believe this actually made it.

Oy I feel sorry for those phone reps. Hope people who's nearest 7-11 do participate don't exploit this.

Alternatively, they may start noticing that a lot of people in Brooklyn all shop at the Lakewood 7-11 :-)

The lakewood manager told me that the individual stores have to pick up the tab for the free slurpees.  Last year he got killed by the huge crowd and couldnt do it again this year (especially in a larger cup!)  also he said 99% of customers that come for the free slurpees dont ever come back untill the next year on 7/11, so he doesnt gain anything from it only loses

He should get 300 cups, and once those are gone he can put a sign in the door no more available.....

Uh-oh...

Dan, this has a VERY high chance of being abused IMHO, any thoughts on removing from main page?

I was thinking that, especially since it is only.while supplies last. But it's bad for business when people come and there are no slurpees. Better to not participate, and when everyone comes for free slurpies they will end up buying a small one anyway.
