I switched my upcoming reservation to the Andaz. What does "too modern" mean?

I never looked into it but just so I know, what made you pic the Andaz over the Waldorf?

They are both equaly highly rated. I didn't compare them too much but I rather use Hyatt points then Hilton free nights (don't think there availability that week either way).
The combination of C+P+DSU with an upgrade into a 2 room $1500 suite and the possibility of free kosher breakfast and an ever so slightly better location for walking was what sold me.

I did hence this post
Anyone know anything about Vos Kosher Catering?
It is under the Rabbinate of the Jewish Community of Amsterdam, as well as the Rabbinate of the Portuguese-Israeli Community of Amsterdam. Are those known to be reliable?
When was/is your stay?

Doesn't seem like any of their suites have 2 bedrooms, especially not the DSU Suite. Did I miss something, or did you mean 2 room as in a living room and separate bedroom?

2 rooms not necessarily bedrooms to put a crib in.

Hi All,

Any recommendations where to stay? We are going to be there over a Shabbat in August so want to be central so that we can walk everywhere.

Hotel Ambassade and Hotel Estheréa both seem centrally located and at a decent rate right now. Anyone have any experience?

Also, is there a Chabad or shul that would find us a host for a Shabbat meal?

Thanks in advance!

Going in september including shabbat for 6 days, makes sense to use 1 hotel whole trip? i have marriott, ihg, hyatt and spg, any advice ? thanks!

i'll probably just eat out the whole trip, any reason to stay in Buitenveldert?

I want to spend 1 day each in RIJKS and van gogh museums, that leaves friday and sunday, any ideas for those days? where would you walk shabbat ?

Now if TAP will extend my lisbon return layover..... ;)

  • Location: The value of a forum such as this one is not in that one can post a question and receive an answer, but in that the question has most likely been asked before, and the answer is available to him that will but only use the search function.
  • Programs: 1. Search on google. 2. Search in the right board of DDF with a general word or two. 3. Read the wiki. 4. Read the thread. 5. Ask away.

I went early and the line was not long.

I was there in the winter and the line was about two city blocks long. I didn't bother waiting.

Anyone have experience waiting? How fast does the line move?

Most people here favored Habaron for meat and Pizza and Co for milk.

+1 We loved the pizza there, and did not like HaCarmel. If we go back, we'd try HaBaron. Sal Meijer was okay/good. Didn't think it was as special as others make it out to be. Definitely a good option in town as opposed to by the Jewish community.
