I stayed at the holiday inn express in buitenveldert(!!) very Shabbos friendly although simple. they give you Shabbos candles and you can even order Friday night dinner glatt kosher, which comes from idk where, but its decent. its a 1 minute walk from the "kollel" shul so that's convenient. keep in mind this is totally on the other side of town from chabad/centraal station/rijksmuseum. (1.5 hour walk at least). so if you want to walk through town/canals/dam square, this wont work.

Yep, wrote about it in my TR. Very close to another Chabad location and many of the restaurants. I knew they had Kosher items at breakfast, but I didn't know about the candles or Shabbos dinner - that's cool!

I'm stopping over in AMS on the way to TLV. We're landing at about 6am and taking off again at about 9pm. It'll be myself, wife, and 7m old daughter. Trying to figure out a tentative plan. We'll take the train into the city...that's all i got so far.

Are cabs expensive? Are Trams easy enough with a doona?

Can I get to a shul in time for shachris? Good breakfast place near said shul?

thanks

Cab from airport to city center costs about 50 Euros, depends on traffic, sometimes less, and within the city they are reasonable .

there is a train underneath the airport that takes you anywhere you need to go. If you want to go where there is a minyan and breakfast near each other, take a train to the RAI (direct 15 mins) and get directions to the kollel then you can go from the RAI to CENTRAAL STATION. I try avoiding trams, in my experience they were very crowded and slow. i took a cab once from the airport, it was a 10 minute ride 40 euro. i thought that was pretty expensive!!

Are there any other Netherlands cities worth visiting for a few days? Thinking about a week trip but that's probably too long for just 1 city. Couple + baby.

Thinking of planning a week long trip to Amsterdam but feel like that's too long for one city. Any other cities good to pair with it? Was looking into Belgium (1+ hr train to Antwerp, and possible to go to Brussels also) but also open to other cities in the Netherlands. Anywhere else worthwhile to go?

1 week is too long for just Amsterdam, have been there many times.  I did not visit other cities in the Netherlands, but always did other inter Europe and UK.
