I applied for the British Airways card from Chase and was denied. I got accepted that same day by Chase for a business Ink.
Seems that the problem is that I cannot get accepted for consumer cards because I have a mortgage (over 2k a month) that is taking up my whole income to debt ratio. I have no problem getting accepted for business cards, but what am I supposed to do about consumer cards?? The Chase rep told me today that there is nothing to even discuss since my income is low and my mortgage is high. She said it's due to some federal regulation passed in 2011.
How does one go about reconsideration in this case?
Other than doubling my income or selling my house, how should I deal with this problem in general?
