I just installed a brand new WD Green HDD into my desktop, and it's not showing up in This PC. Is there something I need to do first?
You probably need to initialize it and format it in Disk Management.

Thanks! I opened Disk Management and this popped up:

Any idea which choice I want?

Choose GPT, drives more than 2TB won't work normally with MBR.

Thanks! Now it's showing the drive as "unallocated". Do I want a "New Simple Volume"?

I use Kaspersky Parental Control to block certain applications (web browser) for certain hours of the day. It recently stopped working. I tried uninstalling, and reinstalling. It still is not working. When I click on the toggle to enable control, a messages appears on the bottom right of the screen saying "Parental control is not enabled". Any clue what is causing this problem?
I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.

Any windows updates recently? Any a/v changes/updates recently?
If it's not free shipping it's not worth it.

I have a battery problem with my Toshiba laptop.

- When plugged in it says "plugged in, not charging"

- even if the battery has a 75% charge (I just bought a new one to make sure the problem wasn't the battery), if you pull the plug, the laptop shuts off.

- if the battery which has a 75% charge is in - the laptop won't start EVEN WHEN PLUGGED IN. But if my old battery which has a 0% charge is in - the laptop will start if it's plugged in.

Please Help!
TIA

I uninstalled and reinstalled and it is now working. Thanks.

Separately my laptop often shuts off when I put in sleep and close the lid. I saw a suggestion to disable automatic restart on howtogeek. Is it smart to disable this? Any other suggestions?

Disable all extensions. If that works re-enable them one by one to find the culprit

Not sure. Maybe try adding in the extensions you have (in your main profile) one at a time, and see if any of them break it?
