I`m looking to add a HDMI port to my MOBO, nothing fancy no gaming just standard use and some photoshop.
I`m not familiar with the terminology, what would something like this one below be, awesome, good bad?

https://www.amazon.com/MSI-TurboCache-PCI-Express-N8400GS-MD256-TC/dp/B0055852AK

What models would be recommended for me? or what features should I be looking out for

If you don't need it really for heavy processing any in this range will suffice.

I'd rather go with this one which is better, newer, and cheaper: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004KABG1I/ref=twister_B01B3934OA?_encoding=UTF8&th=1

What do you call "express slot"? Both these cards (as most video cards) will go into a PCI-e x16.

You can check right over here...

It would not support an i5 (and even much lower and older processors). It has a different CPU socket and also too little voltage.

Where could I get a replacement part for a laptop motherboard? I need the hard drive port for a HP Pavilion DV6500, I'm not sure how it's called, and couldn't find it.

TIA.

Is that part enough for you (let's say you can get it)? Isn't it soldered on to the motherboard?

A whole motherboard you can have here http://m.ebay.com/itm/252779602993?_trksid=p2385738.m2548.l4275&_mwBanner=1

I can't see clearly from the picture but it looks like part of your hard drive is missing, it may be stuck in the motherboard.
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

Both or set (on board settings) to the same scene? Also have you tried switching them around (both port and cable) to see if they change?

It's not missing, the piece circled in red on the motherboard needs to be relpaced.

Will someone do it for you for free? (it is not such an easy task) And on what do you base that "it should be a few bucks"? IINM they usually do not sell parts of device specific motherboards, which are considered field-replaceable (and not serviceable) units.

I have someone that's willing to do it for $30, so even tough it's the smartest thing to do, but I would give it a shot for $35-$40 rather than giving up and throwing it away. I just can't find the part.

So for $40, you can buy the used mobo I linked at eBay.

You have a point. I just need to make sure that it's for the exact same model.

You're right, there may be a few different motherboard models for the same general laptop model, depending on the CPU type etc.

Now I'm thinking that replacing the motherboard might still be too tough and somewhat risky to get it right. So it might not be a good idea.

Anyhow, I don't think you can find someone to solder on the hard drive connector for less than $75 in the best case, even if you do find that part to buy.

The best option might very well be to try a optical drive to hard drive caddy, something like this http://m.ebay.com/itm/281092850601?_mwBanner=1

And BTW, you haven't shared your problem, and why you think it's that part that's broken.

NICE! Never knew this exists. I thougt of using a SATA cable, but it wouldn't be practical.

And BTW, you haven't shared your problem, and why you think it's that part that's broken.

I fixed a software issue for someone, I got the HDD without the adapter, so I told him to "gently" check if it's still connected to the MOBO, but he tried with a screwdriver and broke it off. The photo above is not the actual photo.

My Num Lock key is always turned on when I start my PC , how do I turn it off without turning back on after it restarts ?   I believe I have to change the value date from the Registry Editor/Initial Keyboard Indicators from 2 to 0 , I have done that but it always goes back to 2 by itself , maybe I am not saving it the right way , dono , TIA
