What's the issue?  Any 3.5" SATA should work, no?
Doesn't matter capacity or anything with such an old machine?

How can I know which version of Office is running on my computer (32 or 64 bit)? I have a 64 bit version, is it a problem to run the 32 bit Office on my computer? (I'm suspecting that that's my case.)

Try running malwarebytes and ccleaner  also make sure updates are running and uninstall old and junk programs
avromie7,
I ran malwarebytes that day. It took a long time to scan the computer and they found lots of stuff (in just a few areas-  I forget which ones). The computer's been running nicely.
Today the computer was 'working' again when it didn't need to. ( I was on hulu yesterday.  Did they add something that caused this?)  So I ran ccleaner.  Such a short scantime!
Thanks for your help.

Which programs should I keep? Avast, malwarebytes and ccleaner?  Or something else or a different combination?
My favorite cause: cssy.org

Does this thread cover server issues? DDMS looks like it could use some help at the moment.

I have started to see a black screen pop on my desktop, telling me that Error: Can't Boot from Hard Disk.  Or something like that.  This is Windows 7.  I checked the bios which seemed to boot from something other than the hard drive, and fixed, but it still pops up, with a forced shut off the only option.  I though the hard drive was failing, but the computer seems fine in safe mode?

If you can't boot how can it work in safe mode?

What should I look for in speakers for a computer? They will be used for some background music while working but not serious listening so I would want decent sound quality but no need for audiophile quality. I see numerous models on amazon in the $10-15-20 range from brands like Logitech, Inland, Cyber Acoustics and some computer manufaturers like HP and Dell. Will these do the trick?

When I restart, it boots, but then I get the black screen.
