I installed the Bios update and am still having same problem:(?

I also have tried downloading and installing the wifi driver from the Dell website but get error message "This version can not upgrade from the current older product. Please uninstall the older product manually". It feels a bit risky to uninstall existing network driver? Any suggestions?
Not risky, but make sure its the correct drivers..

EDIT:
I'll tell you what.  Go to Device Manager.  Network Adapters.  Find your wifi card. post it here, along with hwid (go to properties. find hardware id)

Not sure which one is wifi card
I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.

1. Download - https://downloadmirror.intel.com/26598/eng/Wireless_19.40.0_PROSet64_Win10.exe
2. Device Manger, Right-click on the Intel 3160, uninstall.
3. Run the installer from step 1.

Just note, that unless you have a wired connection, once you uninstall you will lose internet until you install the downloaded one
If it's not free shipping it's not worth it.

Thanks. Done.
Is the driver you linked to even newer than the one listed on Dell's page? Dells says "18.40.0.9" while your says 19.4.0?
When I go to the Dell support page it still shows me the update (Intel 8260/7265/7260/3165/3160 WiFi Driver). Is that just because the don't recognize this newer version?
New driver definitely was installed as seen in screenshot.

I updated my BIOS as well (HP laptop, it took about 3 min) and it looks like the issue is fixed! Thank you SO much!
Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.

It looks like you have two WiFi devices - one built in and the other plugged into your USB port.

Is there a way to detect which Optimum access point I am connected to if their areas overlap?

You can get the MAC address of the one you're connected to and then triangulate its position.

Open command prompt by pressing windows+R.
 type in cmd hit enter.
Type in netsh wlan show interfaces.
Check what the bssid is.
Type in netsh wlan show networks mode=bssid

The interface one is the one that your connected to. Now match up the one your connected to, to the other ones and the last 10 numbers should be the same

After shutting down or hibernating, I often have to hold down the power button for a few seconds for the computer to completely shut down. Without this the computer won't restart with simply pushing the power button. Any clue whats going on?
Did you try updating the BIOS? That worked for me a few times.
Updated BIOS, but problem persists. Any other ideas?

Without sound, ShareX is a light simple program, it can record in MP4 or neat little GIFs.

For with sound I didn't found something free really really good, but you can try FlashBack Express (pretty simple, but can only output to WMV.)
