Bein Hazmanim in Israel
« on: July 06, 2010, 05:56:02 PM »
Hello All,
I'm trying to plan my bein hazmanim trip in Israel this summer. I have points from Capital one AMEX and AA. I'm looking for cheap hotels doesn't have to be for miles. I need beaches. Netanya's at the top of the list. Also looking for a good cheap place in tzfas. And if anyone stam has any suggestions to go anywhere else that's beautiful and relaxing (and cheap) it would be greatly appreciated.
Also, I was wondering about renting a car. Is it worth it? I don't mind taking buses, and I've never driven in Israel and am a bit apprehensive about it. Is there any reason to be?
Thanks

I think that a car makes a big difference, but you need a reliable GPS. I had rented one that kept on taking me thru arab neighborhoods.

its sold in any bookstore. its by far the best map book in israel, but unfortunately a bit expensive. however, existing owners get additional copies at a discount so if you get enough ppl interested to cover the one time delivery fee, you can get a pretty good price.

I don't think I can afford  car. I'm not looking to go far anywhere. I basically want to go to Netanya for a few days and relax. And then go to tzfas for shabbos. But noone has suggested places to go. Come on guys, where can I stay in these places?

You can't afford a car? Should have figured that much: oni choshuv keMES...

All crazes aside, if you are just going a couple of places, your best choice is a bus.

You didn't mention going with anyone else, if that's the case, you might look into cheap rooms by people renting a room of their apartment.

You should take the 3 day hike!! chof  l'chof. Take a train to Nahariya and there is an awesome hike that goes to Tiberius. I did it once, forgot all the details as it was a few years ago, but it was an awesome experience and took up 4 days of my time!!

Come on guyss, has noone been to netanya or tzefas? Where did you stay? I'm looking for something in the range of 100$ a night. Where did you eat? It's coming up in two weeks and I still have nothing planned. A small apartment is fine as well. (I think it's called a tzimmer). Has anyone stayed in one or know of any nice/cheap ones?

go to zimmer.co.il and click on the American flag for english. Search by region.
weekend.co.il only has a hebrew site, also a good site though.

Thanks beej.
I was planning on going to Netanya cuz  I was told it's the nicest seperate beach. Today someone told me that the nicest seperate beach in Israel is in Hertzelia. Anyone know anything about that or places to stay over there?

in my opinion tzimmers (or zimmers) are the best way to go if they're available at least for a married couple check those sites for places to stay. (btw zimmer.co.il does have English once you search the region and click on the zimmer you want).
