Yep, its pretty straightforward.
How soon after you load the $200 can you withdraw it?
Did you make up names to put on the cards?

I assume you or someone else here must have this down to a science.

How much did you put on each of the 3 card?
Let me see if i have this straight...you add $200 from your amex card per week.
Then you take the card to a fee-fee ATM and withdraw that $200 each week.

You get a total of $75 for setting up the 3 cards...
Did i miss anything? Or is there a better way to do this?

Nah, I'm talking about charging it to the starwood or other CC for getting the points. Spending without actually spending. The advantage of this card is that you can actually take out the money instead of spending it like most GC. Do it on each card and get 1k points on each. And, need to worry about the withdrawal fees. Simple.

I did. Just got an email from Amex today that I'll be getting my $25 reload bonus in 15-20 days.

It took about 3-4 days.

I think we are saying the same thing...correct me if im wrong here...

So you put $1000 on each of the 3 cards from your SPG card.
Then each week, you withdraw $200 from each pass card.
Deposit that $600 in the bank...
--
Why $1000 on each card?

Yes.

That's the max in one shot. You can put $600 and then reload the next month (till they start charging the monthly fee in oct...)

So do we just cancel these cards before Oct 1st? I assume we should make sure not to put too much in that we wont be able to get out by Oct 1st?

That's what I'm gonna do. BTW just noticed the max load amount is 2500, not 1000.

You can load $200 and withdraw it immediately. That's what I've been doing; loading $202.49 (that's $200 withdrawl, $1.50 pass fee and $.99 ATM fee) each week and withdrawing immediately. I withdrew $20 instead of $200 (I was distracted, I got a phone call while at the ATM), Amex graciously refunded the $2.49.

I have three pass cards, one with my name, two with aliases. All with my DOB and same pin :)
(I hope that isn't TMI)

You can withdraw right away if you have the card. But it takes a while till you get it in the mail.
I made up a name, and when I spoke to them on the phone they wanted to know if I'm the parent or the "teen". I would think it's better to go this way lest the suspect you of something...

Thanks Avid and Asher.
Does it have to be for a teen? Do you think i can put my 2 year old's name on it?

And Asher, do you not have any fee-free atms nearby? This link http://www.moneypass.com/moneypass/search.cfm that was posted above seems to show where the free ones are which would mean its only $1.50 fee...

You're welcome. HTH.

Too far out of my way to be worth the $2.97 in ATM fees ($.99 x 3 pass cards).

Besides, are you sure those are free with any ATM card, or only a moneypass one?

Seems you gotta be a MoneyPass cardholder or your financial institution has to be connected with them. I found that the regular bank ATM's charge $3, but many in the grocery storescharge 150-175, and there is one on E. NY ave (for those in CH) that charges 0.99.

You can put anyone's name there just put a birthdate that would make them a teen, vda'l

That's what I'm asking about. Will this would work with Amex Pass.

I asked AMEX if they are affiliated with any ATM network that allows free withdrawals for AMEX cardholders. The lady I spoke to said no.

Makes sense, but there might be ATM networks (e.g. wawa), that are free for all cards.

Just called AMEX to cancel this card due to the 3.95 fee coming in Oct. The CSR I spoke to said that as of yesterday AMEX has waived the fee for another year till Oct 1, 2011. So I'll be leaving my card open if I need to do some "spending" and want to take it out of an ATM later on.
