Looks good to me. Sometimes when you call Canon Loyalty program (and give in an old camera)the prices are lower.

the promotion discount does not get applied... tried a few browsers... tried going through checkout as far as I could prior to entering credit card information but nothing... also tried any other items that are part of the promo and still same thing.... weird

Very weird. It is still advertised on their site $125 off $500, but I just tried and it didn't work ???

The bright side is the promo is running for a few days. I emailed canon about it so now gotta hope that enough will remain in stock that I can get in on the promo :)

IMO not worth it. Can get it on sale new for $500 with two year warranty

I've had quite a few Canons throughout the years. I've had issues just once. It was my Canon 880 (fav point and shoot ever!) which after I owned a couple years had an issue after the case got thrown by someone who didn't realize the camera was inside. It wasn't under warranty but I paid $100 to have it fixed by Canon. Still working great.
Otherwise no issues.

In general the only time you should have an issue is if you damage the camera yourself somehow.

My current SLR is few years old and cost me around $310 from Canon refurb and it still works great.

My daughters have caused issues with my camera. In actually have a problem with the lens cover on a new camera which I have to send in.
$500 is not current but it pops up every so often. Check sd archives
