Are there any disadvantages to constantly shooting with High Dynamic Range?
Simple answer: Yes, your pictures will probably often look like sh*t :)

Though as @Zalc was getting at, I assume your talking about in-camera HDR, if you're talking about bracketing the only real downside AFAIK is that you need to take multiple exposures for each shot rather than just one.

HDR is not technically feasible for all shots (by bracketing) although there are some photographers that are pushing the limits.

Thank you for your replies. I think I'm talking about in-camera, where the camera takes 3 shots in rapid succession, and then merges the brightest parts of each to create 1 image. Does that make sense?

Plus you'd slow your camera down tremendously.

HDR. Done in-camera it'll usually turn out fairly bad, done manually later on it has a chance of looking great.

This is a perfect example of a scene that would benefit from HDR; but only use it when needed, not all the time.

Again, rather bracket and do it yourself later than in camera (if possible, of course).

This particular photo is a composite of 7 exposures.  The photos were then merged using Photoshop and NIK HDR Software (plug in for Photoshop).

Photoshop / Photoshop Elements are for editing pictures, Premiere / Premiere Elements are for editing videos.

The Elements versions have less features; I don't know which features.
Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.

Which would be a better lens to get for the a5100 (the price difference not being a factor)?

Hasselblad LF 16mm f/2.8 Lens
or
Sony SEL50F18/B 50mm f/1.8 Lens

Depends what you already have and what you like to shoot, but generally the 50mm would be more useful.
