You can still rent using USAA without an account they just might ask for proof and that is not hard to fake

Insurance companies spend MONTHS looking into the tiniest details before they start handing out cash. Especially big cash.

Seriously, why would they verify it themselves? They'll just tell you to send in proof, since the burden of proof is on you.

FTR I had a friend in an accident where the insurance company made a $13K payout which they could've easily avoided had they done their research.

A. the CDP is looked at by Hertz like a discount on the rate (they dont actually think your renting for the business) and once they let you take out the car they dont care about it anymore.

B. if the CC company pays it as long as they get the money the rental company does not care anymore and isn't looking for trouble.

But what if your cc takes 90 seconds to verify that you are a member, and then declines your claim. What are you going to do then? Sue them?
