Providence is one of those small towns where hashgacha and local kosher places are a source of disagreement between the Yeshiva types and MO crowd.  Best bet is to talk to someone you know there (or friend of a friend) to get the details.

Just know that not all attractions are open. Touro Synagogue isn't open and I believe only the Breakers mansion was open as well.

to clarify, mainstream Modern Orthodox Rabbis do not recognize Lighthouse Kosher as a legitimate kashrus agency. He uses a rabbi at a conservative temple to carry hashgacha for his Florida operations and has used blatantly antisemitic caricatures to disparage mainstream Vaad hakashrus who go above and beyond in terms of both finance and manpower expenditures.
There are no mainstream Modern Orthodox Rabbis in the greater Boston/ Providence area who support his hashgacha.

Providence has a year-round Jewish community and will certainly have minyanim. The Touro Synagogue in Newport used to have chol hamoed minyanim, but they have been extremely Covid caution in their reopening, so I would reach out to them to find out the current status. Details here: https://tourosynagogue.org/congregation-jeshuat-israel/prayer-services/

3 day Trip to Newport

Stayed: Sonesta Select in Middletown- Booked a suite that came with 2 queens in one room and a pull-out couch in the other room. The hotel also had an indoor/outdoor pool and a hot tub. There was a sitting area with a fire pit as well. The hotel was nice and was not too far from all the tourist sites. Booked through Chase.
We left Monday afternoon with my wife and 4 kids (4-15). We stopped in Westerly, RI, for a few minutes to see if we could see Taylor Swift’s house. It is possible to see it from the beach. Officially parking during the summer is for residents only but we risked it for the 15 minutes.
The Touro Synagogue does try to have daily minyan in the summer. While we were there they were not able to get 10 but there is a WhatsApp and you can email the Rabbi to get the link.
Day 1
•   Touro Synagogue- They have a 45-minute talk telling you the history of the shul and the Jews of Newport.  There is also a visitor center that has some exhibits.
•   The Breakers- the grandest of the Gilded Age mansions. They have an audio tour, an app, a brochure and a kids scavenger page. My kids enjoyed it but you have to know your kids. There is free parking here. We bought a Duo ticket which allows you access to 2 properties under the Newport Mansions. We ate lunch at the Breakers on a bench
•   Cliff Walk- We took the entrance by the Breakers and walked through Salve Regina University, which has some incredible grounds and views of the water. There are also 2 mansions that are now part of the university that you can see the exterior. It was a nice walk but we didn’t get very far before we turned around and went back to the car. This path was easier and you can probably take a stroller, but if you go the other direction, then it is a little rougher.
•   Ocean Drive and Brenton State Park- We drove on Ocean Drive which has some crazy modern mansions that you can see and it is a very scenic drive which terminates at Brenton State Park where we flew kites. This is where the Kite Festival takes place every year and it has good winds for kite flying. We had brought some of our own but I did see a truck there that sold kites.
After we went back to the hotel for more grilling and the pool.
Day 2-
•   Umbrella Sky Newport- This is an art installation where they have colorful umbrellas hanging over the market like the Shuk. There are a bunch of tourist stores and regular stores. There was also a random bocce court where my kids played.
•   Sailing cruise- we took a 90-minute sail- we used Newport Classic Cruises- it came out cheapest for our family. They take you along the bay and point out some of the mansions and other interesting facts about the bay but it is mostly just about the cruise. They do let you help a little if you ask- pull up the sail or steer the boat. There are parking lots near here to park your car.
•   Green Animals Topiary- this was the second half of our Mansion duo ticket. There is no mansion here but there are beautiful grounds with over 75 topiary aniumals and shapes with some being from the early 1900s. There are lions, bears and they were growing a T-rex. There was also a Lego art installation there but it was not a permanent exhibition. It was a nice way to end the day.
We went back to the hotel for more grilling and pool.
Day 3-
•   Fort Adams- This is a fort from the 1800s that was one of the biggest forts of its time. It was so big it was never attacked. We took the self-guided tour and walked around the fort where you can see some of the buildings and also go on the ramparts to see the bay. You can stroll outside for free but you need a ticket to go into the fort.
After the fort we left Newport.

A couple of smaller things we drove by to see and take a picture were the White Horse Tavern- the oldest operating restaurant in the US and the 3rd in the world. We drove by the Old Stone Mill- one of the earliest buildings in America and the old Jewish cemetery.
