Thank you all....how far is shallets from city?

Shallots is in skokie. North of the city. Depends where in the city you are....
Without traffic: Without traffic about 25 min from the magnificent mile. From the jewish community? About 5 minutes...again depending where you are coming from

Sure, but which restaurants did you go to?

Maybe STL?  MSP?

Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

St. Louis....sounds intriguing...I'll look into it. With regard to Cleveland, I'll admit I haven't done all there is to do certainly in regard to the food department...hey, if two relaxing days can be had there - suggest some options and I'll be there!

Thanks!

PS If you're desperate, I can bring you some Salmon Pasta w/ Fries from Fish Grill while I'm at. :)

Not much in terms of restaurants in STL...i think Kohns is the only place and hardly a restaurant.

IMHO- Door county, WI is the way to go(not that far away)...bring your own food though...no restaurants for miles

depends where you plan on going. public transit is pretty good, but wont get you everywhere.

most of downtown you have to have a permit to park, or pay to park in a lot
