I am landing at 1:45 pm and departing at 1:15 am, what can and should I do during my layover?

Can I go to the wall of china with the 72 hours transit visa from Beijing?

plenty of time to see the wall.. I had a similar stop, hired a taxi who was recommended on TA and he took us around all day.. great service and reliable...

Here's his contact details and some itinerary he did for me:

yellowcar John <johnyellowcar@hotmail.com>

Thank you for your email. I am very glad to heard that you want to book my car for your trip in Beijing !

Yes,actuallyt, I am still free on July 5!!

This is my suggestion for you :

I wii pick you up from the airport first ,then go to the Great Wall at Mutianyu and also do some seeings in the city for you .I will try to take you to see more things during the day !

I do this job10 years and I drove taxi 9 years before,so,I am a native,I know my city very well,I will be a good driver for you .

The price will be 1000 rmb for everything (gas, toll, parking) except ticket and food.

You can also see some my good reocmmendtions from : www.tripadvisor.com and www.youtube.com !

After some research it seems that the only kosher restaurant in Beijing, which is called Dini's is now located in the Chabad house. Is the Chabad house out of things and far from the main tourist sights?

We are not staying overnight. We land at 145pm and leave at 1:15 am. They close at 930 pm. Does it  make sense to go?

I read that too, that you are only allowed in the city, but it seems that everyone goes to the wall on transit visas without any issues.

Anyone have a trip report to China for 6-8 days? Best Hotels? Food? Attractions and or trips?

Thanks.
I am not 100% sure about this. But I am going to click it anyway.
