Anyone have a trip report to China for 6-8 days? Best Hotels? Food? Attractions and or trips?

Thanks.
I am not 100% sure about this. But I am going to click it anyway.

Is now considered peak season?
Ie. Will the regular place at the wall (badaling) be crowded- and should go to mutaniyu?

How far is either one from downtown chabad area?

Thanks!

How long does the immigration and customs typically take when using the 72hr Visa (I have an Australian passport)? I land from Warsaw at 6:35am, I'm not collecting luggage as my connection departs at 3:25pm on Air China. When can I expect to be out of the airport and what do I have time for? I'd like to go to the Great Wall as well as the kosher restaurant, will there be enough time? what else might I have time for?

I only did customs once, but didn't take any longer then anywhere else I've been.
I would say you do have time to see the wall and go to restaurant, but not much more then that.

Assuming you'l be out by 7:30, to get to wall took us about 1.5 hr (maybe a little longer from airport), we couldn't leave the wall before at least an hr, and back to restaurant about 1.5 hr.(think were holding at about 12pm), eat about an hr (not the fastest service there- but good food), and back to airport takes about 40min. IME
you do have a little more time to play with (esp if you order your food from restaurant by phone beforehand), but IMO not worth it to push in the forbidden city in that time. Maybe you can go to market a little. if not interested then the drum tower was nice.

hope this helps you.

Once you are in beijing, why go to a kosher restaurant, go to forbidden city instead. Not worth missing it unless you come back soon over some food

I'm looking at doing a trip across Asia in the winter. Is Beijing too cold to visit at the end of January? I'm looking to be there 2-3 days.

I know that it will be cold and I would obviously bring a coat. My question is if it is absolutely freezing and I won't enjoy it, or just mild.
