Lately Ive noticed many more old threads coming back instead of new ones being opened.

Just curious- why is 1 thread with 100+ pages any less cluttered than 100 1 page long threads?

Maybe this idea can help:
Create a new subgroup under credit cards, called questions-
lazy people can post there
annoyed people don't have to look there
eager to help people can answer the questions there

Maybe?

So sorry to annoy anybody by breathing- but has anybody ever considered that thousands of posts complaining about n00bs and their behavior might also be clutter?

Maybe those complaining about n00bs have an inferiority complex. If they complain about n00bs they think nobody will notice that they really are still a n00b’s.

  • Location: The value of a forum such as this one is not in that one can post a question and receive an answer, but in that the question has most likely been asked before, and the answer is available to him that will but only use the search function.
  • Programs: 1. Search on google. 2. Search in the right board of DDF with a general word or two. 3. Read the wiki. 4. Read the thread. 5. Ask away.

Well the thread you linked to is 83 pages- which actually just made my brain start buzzing. But if everything I said has already been rehashed there- I stand corrected.

You're missing the point - the whole point of that thread is that you DON'T have to read all 83 pages, or look over your shoulder in fear before posting. The point of that thread is for beginners to just ask away! :)

Now, THAT is a good way of describing a n00b.

Oh, you were in search of a definition?
:) yep, my brain buzzes when I see a thread 83 pages long. Dunno if it had anything to do with being a n00b- I think it's just something I'll have to accept about my cranial capacities...

Incidentally, if you came across an unfamiliar thread- how many pages would it have to contain before it threw you off? Or would you pull through, no matter what?
