HT: FT

Citi in NY pulls from either Equifax or Experian or both. YMMV even by the same person.

If you live in NJ or NY, you should freeze your Experian. They will only pull Equifax then. Otherwise, YMMV.

FOR MORE INFO, READ FT'S WIKI - IT IS PHENOMENAL, FT WIKI

Quote from the above mentioned FT WIKI:
For the most part, freezing Experian, or another bureau, will not cause Citi to pull a different bureau. They will almost certainly require you to unfreeze the bureau they wish to pull or deny your application. Some people have been successful providing the PIN but others have not. Mostly, freezing a credit bureau in an attempt to force Citi to pull a different one seems to waste time, money, and effort for little result. But YMMV.

DDF data points (As of 10/2015)
NY- pulls both EQ/EX, can still get instant approval with EX frozen
CA, OH, PA, TX- ONLY EX. Citi will refuse to pull other bureau

Benefits:..
New no forex fees starting Nov.'15

From FT Wiki:"Important exception: If you receive a Platinum World MC which is later converted to a World Elite MC (as indicated on the back of the card), the opening of that card will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule. This is true not only for conversions in early 2015, but also for those in more recent months.
Note: It makes no difference when (or whether) you activate the World Elite card. If you have the WE card in hand, then the conversion on Citi's books is already complete. There is nothing magical about activating it.
There are a few reports that some Gold World MC are being converted to Gold World Elite MC and that will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule."
UPDATE: As of 02/18/2016 (for applications after 02/09/2016), the W>WE loophole may be dead.

YES. I don't think anybody has dared what I did, but I did get approved.

3 Exec cards.
How did you get around the 2 apps/60 days rule? or is it YMMV?
What was the date of your 1st app?

Do these miles qualify for the Million Miler status? That would be like the good old days...

Yup, only the AF is a killer.

I got the AF waived on my first card last year though. Didn't try it yet on my second card (and new third).

Here are my application dates.

1. Jan. 2013
2. Beginning Feb. 2014
3. Feb. 26 2014

On the second card they approved only by shifting credit. The third they approved me without a blink.

I will work on the AF fee waiver soon.

I'm still curious if I will get 30k EQM For the three cards. I will know in about 4 months. According to the tc's you don't get it but let's see.

Why is AF killer? 110k miles not worth $250?

The other cards had a fee waiver on first year. Yes 100k is not bad for $250. Biz class to Asia on CX.

Friend of mine called to cancel and get the fee returned. They told him they will open an investigation on him, and have his points forfeited.
Funny how about a month ago in the Alaskain thread every1 was laughing at the notion of a clawback- now seems like there is room 4 a concern - funny how things can change in a month..
