HT: FT

Citi in NY pulls from either Equifax or Experian or both. YMMV even by the same person.

If you live in NJ or NY, you should freeze your Experian. They will only pull Equifax then. Otherwise, YMMV.

FOR MORE INFO, READ FT'S WIKI - IT IS PHENOMENAL, FT WIKI

Quote from the above mentioned FT WIKI:
For the most part, freezing Experian, or another bureau, will not cause Citi to pull a different bureau. They will almost certainly require you to unfreeze the bureau they wish to pull or deny your application. Some people have been successful providing the PIN but others have not. Mostly, freezing a credit bureau in an attempt to force Citi to pull a different one seems to waste time, money, and effort for little result. But YMMV.

DDF data points (As of 10/2015)
NY- pulls both EQ/EX, can still get instant approval with EX frozen
CA, OH, PA, TX- ONLY EX. Citi will refuse to pull other bureau

Benefits:..
New no forex fees starting Nov.'15

From FT Wiki:"Important exception: If you receive a Platinum World MC which is later converted to a World Elite MC (as indicated on the back of the card), the opening of that card will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule. This is true not only for conversions in early 2015, but also for those in more recent months.
Note: It makes no difference when (or whether) you activate the World Elite card. If you have the WE card in hand, then the conversion on Citi's books is already complete. There is nothing magical about activating it.
There are a few reports that some Gold World MC are being converted to Gold World Elite MC and that will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule."
UPDATE: As of 02/18/2016 (for applications after 02/09/2016), the W>WE loophole may be dead.

Do you mean a NL offer? That should be fine even with same FFN

didn't notice any language other than;
"If you are an existing city/AAdvantage card member you are not eligible for this offer on your existing account"

Is that the exact language? What was your original question, what were you trying to accomplish?

Didn't check the language beforehand, thought citi has a automatic 24 months no bonus rule. I thought NL is only by Amex.
Then yes, you should be fine to use it on the same FFN.
Thanks

Nope. CITI has it too, you should check, but again what exactly are you trying to do?

that's why I started off my comment with "done" My question was earlier when I thought that I might not receive the bonus.
Don't really understand your question @mmgfarb answered perfectly.

I  got a citi advantage gold mastercard invitation offer code expires march 18 for   65k in the mail under my mothers name ,also no language and all it say says with regards to restrictions for bonuses  "exisiting citi card aadvantage not eligible for bonus"  would you call that a nl offer? and are you eligible for the bonus if you only have a citi business card and not a personal? because it says "existing aadvantage members cant get the bonus ". which seems to include even business aa cardholders. And even  if  you would call that a nl offer would I be able to get it if i closed my citi personal plat select today and waited a month or 2 to apply even though i currently have a citi business aa card?  can i get the offer even though invite code is not under my name ?had trouble following the previous back and forth answers  from the last few posts toa answer mr cc who posted a similar question.

I need to make several large appliance and furniture purchases.  Is it more beneficial to put it in this card or chase ihg?  Why?
this card, definitely more valuable points for sure. especially with the ihg devaluation  that dan wrote about a few weeks ago

It's probably not transferable, all the gold mailers aren't IME.

Got the AF. Any reason to keep this card open? (I also have the Barclay)
Can I downgrade to any free card? I dont want to loose the credit line (the only citi card I have)
however dont want to downgrade to something that I might loose the opportunity to gt a signup bonus on in the future.

Thank You
