HT: FT

Citi in NY pulls from either Equifax or Experian or both. YMMV even by the same person.

If you live in NJ or NY, you should freeze your Experian. They will only pull Equifax then. Otherwise, YMMV.

FOR MORE INFO, READ FT'S WIKI - IT IS PHENOMENAL, FT WIKI

Quote from the above mentioned FT WIKI:
For the most part, freezing Experian, or another bureau, will not cause Citi to pull a different bureau. They will almost certainly require you to unfreeze the bureau they wish to pull or deny your application. Some people have been successful providing the PIN but others have not. Mostly, freezing a credit bureau in an attempt to force Citi to pull a different one seems to waste time, money, and effort for little result. But YMMV.

DDF data points (As of 10/2015)
NY- pulls both EQ/EX, can still get instant approval with EX frozen
CA, OH, PA, TX- ONLY EX. Citi will refuse to pull other bureau

Benefits:..
New no forex fees starting Nov.'15

From FT Wiki:"Important exception: If you receive a Platinum World MC which is later converted to a World Elite MC (as indicated on the back of the card), the opening of that card will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule. This is true not only for conversions in early 2015, but also for those in more recent months.
Note: It makes no difference when (or whether) you activate the World Elite card. If you have the WE card in hand, then the conversion on Citi's books is already complete. There is nothing magical about activating it.
There are a few reports that some Gold World MC are being converted to Gold World Elite MC and that will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule."
UPDATE: As of 02/18/2016 (for applications after 02/09/2016), the W>WE loophole may be dead.

I have Citi AA visa platinum & Citi AA amex select since late 2011. I also have CIti AA visa business card since 2012.
Is there any other Citi AA card I can apply for and get bonus?
You can definitely do another Platinum as well as an AA Gold. Regarding the biz, it depends when in 2012 you opened it.

Visa, Amex... no difference.

Both of these cards offer 40k or 50k bonus?
Someone recently posted a 50k link for the Platinum (scroll back a bit). The Gold is around 30k.

I opened the Citi AAdvantage Mastercard in Jan, 2013 and bought one AA flight on it and then honestly forgot about it because I was so busy with spending threshholds on the 4 AMEX credit cards we recently opened in my husband's name (over 10k in 3 months). Unfortunately, I realized when I looked at my April statement I hadn't gotten the 40k miled targeted offer I got in the mail which is why I signed up for this card. I've done HUCA a bunch of times but pretty much gotten nowhere. I do a ton of spending on my 6 chase credit cards (over 75k a year) but when i threaten to close my AA card (which I've spent over 4k in the past month on) they say, "sure we can do that for you right now." They don't seem to be interested in keeping me as a customer for some reason. One sympathetic rep finally said she'd send my account to a review dept to see if I could at least get partial mileage after they review my usage of the card and I should call back in a week. I called back tonight, HUCA at least 5 times tonight and all reps are telling me it's impossible to get the points. One rep even told me if i cancel my card & reapply i might not be eligible for the points because i've had a card recently, even though i never got any threshhold spending points! is this true?? any suggestions before i close the card? SO ANNOYING... will have to open the Visa for 50k points in my husbands name, wait a while, then reapply if it's true.

Won't they ask me  why I need same Citi AA visa or the Citi AA select Amex card if I don't get instantly approved?

Mine are  20 months old and still open.

I applied back in April for a biz card but was denied because that biz had a card under my wife's name.  Reapplied yesterday and was told denied because an application was recently submitted (61days ago). should I play huca?
Where is the 30k gold link.  Seems dead to me

It's a YMMV.

It sounds like they send them out in batches.

Always buy a refundable ticket. A 3x bonus netted me 9,440 miles on the statement.
