Looks like was only for July 1-2
I keep getting letters in the mail from Chase for free $100, if it looks legit, I think it's kinda like opening a credit card, just make sure the bank is legit, and look at the t&c carefully

$25 for a hard pull, seriously???
Even if they didn't hard pull for their checking account that's not enough to pique my interest.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

ING also operates Sharebuilder.  If you are a Costco member you can get a $55 bonus after doing one $5 trade
http://www.costco.com/Browse/Productgroup.aspx?Prodid=11092259&Ne=4000000&eCat=BC|55291|55485&N=4018304&Mo=1&No=1&Nr=P_CatalogName:BC&cat=55485&Ns=P_Price|1||P_SignDesc1&lang=en-US&Sp=C
Do it with the auto invest pln and do a one time deposit of $6, so you net $50.
You can open accounts for each of your kids and I've gotten binuses ofr each one.
Also gotten multiple promo bonuses per person-  they give miles for Delta, US Air, Continental and maybe others.

Eons ago I participated in a promo where they gave you $10 for each person you referred who signed up for their savings account. I made like $50.

But, let me try to stay on topic. Here's a current link where they offer $50.

Last I checked (with the $76 promo July 4th) there was no hard pull for either their checking, savings, or Sharbuilder account.

Funny thing about people, they'll spend half a day calling an award ticket desk to find someone nice enough to waive the $20 booking fee but wont spend 10 min opening an account which will get them twice that...

Ye, I didn't remember the exact words but I'm pretty close, I think.
I was going to write your name but lately you've been getting tons of flak for going OT. So I posted it, its your thoughts and if they want they can start with me.
Btw, if you want I can still put it as a quote from you, should I?

I have no firsthand experience, but it seems from google that people are getting hard pulls for checking accounts and possibly sharebuilder accounts.

Even for a soft pull like from chex systems, they do limit the amount of accounts that you can open.

When Key has a $275 bonus or Chase has 25K miles I'll take the hard pull any time.  But for less than $100...

There is definitely a hard pull for the Electric account.  None for the sharebuilder.

It depends on the bank whether they do a hard pull from your credit score or check something like chex systems.

Yup, I stand corrected.

I understand that ING DIRECT will obtain information about me from a consumer reporting agency and that based on that information, I may be declined for Electric Orange.

I seem to remember when I signed up with the July 4th promo they said there will be NO hard pull... maybe it was just at that time?

I have made over $400 with Sharebuilder I opened 4 accounts under one user name for me and my wife, with the $50 promo with various types of accounts (joint, indv., custodian etc.) I put in $50, in 6-8 weeks get bonus $50 and you have to wait 3 months to cash out bonus $50.

I also signed up for the $76 promo and got an extra $150 so I am apprx $550 for free

it's not worth opening for the $25, but they have one of the best interest rates I've seen.

Looks like their savings account is at 1.1%.
I'll stick with earning 1 tax-free AA mile over a taxable 1.1%
