Go to Chabad.org and type in the zip for every Chabad House into Airbnb...hundreds within 2 hours of LA, have fun.

....along with the new Chabad Shluchim to Dana Point, CA....  (makes me wish that the Monarch Beach Resort was still a St. Regis. They made a recent $40 million renovation...)

The one consolation is that now the Ritz-Carlton in Dana Point next door will be on the new SPG>Marriott plan.

What hotel allows 7 people in 1 room, even a suite? Unless you have 2 certs...

Suite with 2 bedrooms - 2 beds and 2 pullout couches.

I'm going to pitch in over here, although I have a conflict of interest here since I own this property. Please check:

It is in heart of La Brea area, a few minutes walking to many shuls.

It is not cheap. However, please realize it is a full house with 4 bedrooms that can comfortably sleep 8. So if you compare that to the space / rooms you would need at a hotel, it is quite competitive. I don't know of any other full size house that you can get within walking distance to shuls in LA.

Have a good shabbos.

this is a new Chabad House location. Announced here on 4/16/2018. They will be running programs for local families and teens.

Any suggestions on hotel for shabbos near orthodox minyan for family of 7? Everywhere I look is $500+ per night. I'm fine with outside of the immediate LA area.

Go somewhere nice like Laguna, Malibu or Newport Beach. There's a Shul/Chabad in great locations in all of those places. Tons of AirBNB options

Issue

Termination

As of March 28nd 2018, OK Kosher has terminated kosher certification of Delice bakery (both locations).

 

This is effective immediately due to Kashrus Violations during Pesach production.

I want to assure you that we would never terminate our certification of any establishment because of a mere "mistake" or otherwise minor issue. We do this only as a last resort when we are certain we cannot continue to guarantee the high standards of Kashrus people expect from us. This is a decision that we take extremely seriously after strongly considering the consequences of such a decision.

We uncovered a deliberate and calculated plan by the owner to make and sell non KFP products (cookies with Kitniyos ingredients baked in a Chometz oven) as KFP. Our Mashgiach picked up that something was wrong. At first the owner vehemently denied it and completely discredited the Mashgiach. It took us another day to establish the truth and finally when confronted with the hard evidence, the owner admitted to all of this.

Given the scope of this violation and the subsequent ways in which they attempted to cover it up etc. it was clear that we could no longer guarantee the Kashrus of the Delice stores and we terminated our Kosher certification.

Julien (owner of Delice) is trying very hard to get the bakeries back in operation. The closure affected many people especially the families that relied on it for Parnassa. Let's hope that at end things will work out for everyone.

Sfard is the predominant nusach. Seems like a rather elitist position, I don't think any of the gedolim have or had a problem davening in a minyan with a different nusach

Only in La Brea. In Pico and the valley Ashkenaz is way more popular, like I don't know of a single minyan that is not chabad or Persian that doesn't daven Ashkenaz (with the exception of Kahal Chassidim). It may sound like a lot of exceptions, but it's really not.

But don't worry, the wiki map lists which nusach each shul is.
