Tierra Sur At Herzog Winery in Oxnard 5/5 stars-The menu here is constantly changing but is always amazing.  The flavors you will try here are unlike any you will get at another kosher restaurant in the world.
Oxnard -

La Gondola4.5/5 stars
-Avocado eggrolls to die for (I had it and I didn't like it
I can't eat Avocado when it's warm, I'm sure others can't too-Sillypainter).  Great Bread with garlic margarine on the house(agree-Sillypainter) Great Gondola Burger special for lunch with excellent pasta or a soup.  And the Chai Steak with Carmelized Steak Sauce and arguably the best kosher ribs out there.   I'm getting hungry thinking about this place!
Pico

Meatos - https://meatos.us/

http://charcoalgrillbar.com/

Shiloh's4/5 stars
-Great baby back ribs and peppercorn steak.  They serve steaks with a number of dipping sauces which is pretty cool.  Also had some delicious key lime pie.
I did have a bad experience here with really bad food though...and service can be poor here as well.
Beverly Hills Thai4/5 stars-It can get very crowded so it's best to make a reservation in advance.
Jeff's 3.5/5 stars-Homemade onion rings, homemade sausages, Steak Sandwich, Western burger, lots of good and greasy stuff here.
PKD (Pico Kosher Deli)3.5/5 stars
-Excellent Deli-style food along with equally good homemade onion rings. No Reservations, but rarely more than a few minute wait. closes at 9 PM.
Pat's3/5 stars
-Either you love this upscale steakhouse or you hate it.  I used to hate it until my brother became good friends with the bartender.  Now when I go back with him we're treated to a feast for a king! Don't miss the bread pudding dessert!
Shanghai2.5/5 stars
-LA hasn't had very good Chinese since Sholom Cuisine closed.  This place is decent though.
Harissa4/5 stars-Home of the LA-famous pretzle challah! They offer Middle Eastern/Mediterranean/North African cuisine.  They have lots of seating and long hours.

Milk/Parve:

1. Fish Grill
4.5/5 stars
-The best fish you'll ever have, period.  I'm not such a fish person, but their Grilled Salmon on Angel Hair Pasta with a huge order of well-seasoned fries...YUM! Get the grilled salmon sandwich.

2. Milky Way Reopened, brand new place worth a visit
4/5 stars
-Steven Spielberg's adorable mom will come shmooze with you and show you his movie posters in the back.  Cheeze blintzes and lemon tart are awesome. Chimichangas, potato latkes, and more all at prices that haven't been raised in decades.

3. Pizza Nosh (Agoura Hills)
4/5 stars
-Excellent pizza and Eggplant Parmesean, worth a stop if you're in the area.

4. Pizza Mayven
4/5 stars
-Good plain pizza and excellent fries, and that's about it.

5. Nagila Pizza
3/5 stars
-Good but pricey stuffed crust pizza, and that's about it. There are some big fans of their Naco's out there as well.

6. Trattoria Natalie
4.5/5 stars
-A trattoria is translated from Italian as a tavern, and that's what this restaurant feels like.  They have a cool on-table feature: its a paging device with three bottons.  One botton calls for water, the other for the bill, the last for a waiter.  The food is very good and prices not too expensive.

7. Meshuga for Sushi/Meshuga for Sushi 2
4/5
-With 3 locations (one in La Brea, one in Pico, and one in the valley), they offer great sushi at reasonable prices.  They have some space to eat in the restaurant.  They have long hours and a decent lunch menu.

IF you eat non-CY:
-Sweet Rose Creamery, on Beverly is Kosher and considered some of the best ice cream in LA by foodies http://www.sweetrosecreamery.com/, usually have 4 or 5 non dairy flavors
-Toppings Frozen Yogurt 349 S Robertson Blvd, good frozen yogurt, usually have a non dairy flavor or two

If you eat CY:
-Milky's at 1429 S Robertson Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90035 recently became kosher and is cholov yisrael.

Breakfast/Bakery:
1. Cafe Elite
4.5/5 stars
-Amazing cake/crumb donuts along with your usual breakfast food.

2. Schwartz Bakery/Circa NY
4/5 stars
-A great but expensive bakery.  The crumb cheese danish is a personal favorite, as is their wonderful Caramel cake and "kit kat" chocolate rice crispy bars.
They also now serve breakfast in their Pico and Fairfax location.  I had the combo Pancake+Waffle+Franch Toast meal with fruit salad that was very good.
On friday's only they sell raspberry cheese pockets - they always sell out of them early.

3. La Brea Bagel
3/5 stars
-Very good bagels with all kinds of toppings and other breakfast food.

4. The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf - 7235 Beverly Blvd
4/5 stars
-The only coffee bean in LA that has Cholov Yisroel upon request and offers 3 Pas Yisroel bakery items from Delice; Chocolate Almond croissant, Custard twist, and chocolate croissant - also upon request.

SHABBOS TAKE OUT OPTIONS

1. Ralph's - both the Pico and La Brea locations have a kosher section with takeout

Los Angeles Master Thread

Here goes, it's my first time writing a TR so please forgive me for any mistakes with it. I'm on the way back from a trip to LA with my wife and son (6 months old), it was a short vacation but very pleasant and relaxing.

Sunday: 3:30 AM we loaded the car and headed to JFK airport to fly lie-flat business class to LAX (thanks to Dan and Delta :D ). We had a 7:00 flight, after a 45 minute delay we finally departed and landed at 10:15 AM in LAX. We went straight to National to pick up our car, reserved with the State of California code, 5 Minutes later we were out of the lot with a brand new Buick Lacrosse. We headed straight to our hotel, which was the Marriott Residence Inn Beverly Hills, to try our luck to get early check in. The staff there was very nice and checked us in at about 11:30. The room we got was very nice but the rest of the hotel was a dump, no lobby, no pool etc. and overall it was ugly. We took a little nap as we didn't sleep the night before and only caught a quick snooze on the plane (too busy enjoying first class). After that we woke up refreshed and went for a nice stroll through the Grove then headed to Jeff's for dinner and called it a night.

Monday: We started off the day with breakfast at Pico Cafe and then headed to Griffith Park. We took our son on the merry-go-round and relaxed in the park for a bit and then took a walk around, beautiful park. We headed back to our hotel, put our kid to sleep and had a babysitter come over to watch our son (HT: MC for helping me get the babysitter) while my wife and I went to Ditmas for Dinner. The food in Ditmas was excellent and IME was worth paying the extra $20 for the prime cut. I also ordered the trafficking cocktail upon recommendation from Dan and PG and even though I have an aversion to whiskey, it was excellent!

Tuesday: We woke up a bit late and headed straight to Oxnard for the wine tour and lunch at Tierra Sur. I wish we would've had time to stop at the Malibu Beach on the way but do to time constrictions that wasn't possible. We used highway 1 to get there and the view was spectacular. We got there in good timing, I prayed Mincha in the room with the huge metal thingys and then sat down to Lunch. The Lunch menu was not as impressive as I expected, although I was warned beforehand by Dan, albeit a bit too late. We started heading back and my iPad/GPS went dead so we stopped in staples to buy a charger. After a long drive and 2 stops (for the baby) we finally got back to LA. We took a drive down Rodeo Drive and then went to look at some mansions. After that we went to the Beverly Hills entrance sign and took some photos there. We weren't the only celebrities there ;) , there was some other celebrity having a massive photo shoot.

Wednesday: We got up super early and had the babysitter come again to the hotel (HT: MC for helping me get the babysitter), at 8 in the morning, so that my wife and I can go on the Warner Brothers Studio Tour. The tour was amazing we really enjoyed and we even got to stand on the star where Ellen gives her monologue from! (I don't know if that's standard). After the tour we headed back to the hotel to pick up our son and went to Pico for brunch. From there we continued on to the Getty Museum. We definitely did not give ourselves enough time but nonetheless enjoyed it immensely and I'm not an art type of person. After that we headed back to our hotel and I went out to pick up dinner from, you guessed it, Jeff's!

Thursday: We woke up @3 to catch our 6 o'clock flight, this time we flew United Business, also lie-flat, and booked a separate seat for our son! We originally had a Delta flight Thursday night but that was in economy and only 2 seats. We got a little spoiled so we used 51K Lufthansa Miles to book 3 seats on United LAX-JFK direct. The food was definitely better on this flight than the Delta.

Nice TR! It sounds like you had an enjoyable time in LA even though the hotel wasn't amazing and your stay was short. Thanks for writing!

PDK is very good, and Ralphs on Pico and Beverwil has a new takeout section, but I haven't tried it. If it's like the Ralphs on 3rd and La Brea it should be good.

You're right next door to Adas Torah (yeshivish) and down the block from YICC (Young Israel of Century City) which is more modern.

There are basically no nusach sfard minyanim in Pico, just ashkenaz and eidut hamizrach.

Yes. PKD is very good and for minynim you could go to the above or yola or Magen David etc. there is no shortage of minynim and food in LA so you have no need to worry

That's obvious. His question was in attempt to narrow down the options.

Yup
