Is there a phone like this?

Can someone recommend a Sprint phone that (1) can go online via wifi even without service, (2) can broadcast its data service to my laptop when I have no wifi, and (3) has at least an option to use 9 buttons for dialing and texting with T9 (i.e. not touch-screen, not QWERTY, etc.)?

However, if you are willing to do without your third req, pretty much any smartphone with wifi will work.

And many smartphones with touchscreens can switch to a 9-key dialpad albeit virtually.

Windows Mobile and Android HTC phones (i.e. Touch Pro, Touch Pro2, Evo 4G,Hero) have technology similar to T9

My T9 question wasn't really so much about the technology.  I just have gotten good at blindly texting, for which I need to feel the buttons (i.e. not touch-screen).  And, obviously, I'd prefer 9 buttons and not 26, at that point.

Yah. That "in between" option is really awful.
The Pearl has a keyboard that's two letters per button. Its practical for nobody.
I'm can bet that a t9 fan would prefer qwerty way more than what the pearl offers.

There will be a new T9 version coming out
