Dan mentioned a few weeks ago the next possible North America route might be IAD or ORD.
Any real indication that IAD might be the next in line for a direct TLV flight?

And used to be much more valuable when they had terminals listed too.

Yup, was discussed here - http://www.airliners.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1361733. The terminal feature was very useful when they had it.

We are booked on AC85, TLV-YYZ, scheduled to arrive at 16:55. We have a separate ticket YYZ- BOS that departs at 20:55. Avoiding checked luggage TLV-YYZ is obviously preferable in terms of minimizing the chance of missing our flight.  But if I do need to check a bag, how much time am I adding to claim and recheck and clear security and US immigration/customs? The only difference I can see between my situation and a typical situation (i.e., having a single ticket TLV-YYZ-BOS) is that in the latter, my checked luggage gets screened behind the scenes by security and customs, but I still personally need to go through security, immigration and customs.

you can still check in your bag all the way TLV - BOS, just show your connection for the desk in TLV.

is it for tomorrow? if so you can change for free for an earlier connection

You didn't mention which airline is your YYZ-BOS flight. If AC, you should be able to check all the way through.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Should be AC #7678 on E175.

You all are great.  Thanks so much. See below.

It's actually next week.

You didn't mention which airline is your YYZ-BOS flight. If AC, you should be able to check all the way through.

Should be AC #7678 on E175.

It's booked as UA8530, but indeed it is AC 7678.

Here's the deal:  As at least one other person encountered, during the glitch, I couldn't get the same-day connecting flight to price out, so I ended up with a 13-hour layover in Toronto. I was hoping for a schedule change that would allow me to reschedule to a same-day connecting flight, but no luck.  I didn't think I would have much success getting an AC agent, either in TLV or in YYZ, to switch me to the same-day connecting flight.  Also, it seems that you can fly standby for a flight but only same-day.  So, instead of accepting the painful layover and early morning departure from YYZ, I bit the bullet and bought separate tickets for the YYZ-BOS leg.  With 50,000 MR (and then getting 25,000 back), I bought the four through Amex.  Effectively, I'm doing HC on the original booking and then using a legitimately purchased ticket for the connecting flight.

So you see, I can't check luggage all the way through.  I need to claim it as if I'm spending the night in Toronto, and then recheck it.  Or, as I said, probably safest if I can avoid checked luggage altogether.

It would have been a lot easier if AC would have just changed the darn flight for me, but they wanted change fee plus repricing of the original ticket.

Maybe if you can show a ticket returning from BOS to YYZ the same day, it can be explained that you actually need to be in BOS and YYZ at those times and then go back to BOS, and it just priced better as separate tickets. (Get BOS-YYZ that you can cancel penalty free).
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!
