U would go to Zurich, right?
I guess if there would be a PH in Barlioche....

Of course (it's already in the itinerary), why not?
It has a large Jewish community dating back hundreds of years and a flourishing frum community too.

I can (arguably) accept the logic of not using products developed by/in Germany, but why should I not be allowed to go to a popular vacation spot because Germans also went there? i.e.  I can understand not using German products but not using products that Germans used? ???

Dilemma: flying soon to Uruguay, and wondering if i should hop on over to Buenos Aires for a day or two.
Does it make sense and is it worth it to go from Sunday morning to tuesday afternoon from MVD - BUE?
i have 29k LAN km which is only enough for one way and i would have to pay for visa or i can take a bus or a boat etc...
i would go myself also.
any input? -

You can take the boat. Pretty convenient, cheap and AFAIK you don't have to pay 'retribution fee'.

You can also stop in colonia Uruguay on the way. Meaning take a bus from Montevido to Colonia and then take the buquebus across. Take the express one.

Yes, definitely hop over to Argentina unless you plan to make a trip there soon.
I think you can fly to AEP and then you don't have to pay the fee, someone CMIIW.
Also have in mind once you pay the fee it works for the next 10 years or something like that.
The buquebus is also very convenient.
you can use BA avios to fly with LAN.

Many stores in BA will pay 9 ARS per dollar. Maybe even more.
What's stopping me from converting all my USD into ARS and changing it back into USD at the airport?

Anyone try this?
Am I missing something?

I have a relative who bought thousands of Pessos because someone told him he'd be able to sell them in the US at a profit. Only to find out that no one in America wants them. If you change at the airport then it shouldn't be a problem though.

If it's that easy to switch back at the airport then go for it.
Argentinians can't buy USD so easy but should be fine for you.

They have a limit at the airport. Find out how much the limit is before buying ARS so as to not get stuck.

You can't just go to a different counter or something?

I think they put you into the computer by ticket/passport number but I can be wrong.

In the worst case you can probably always change in the airport once you arrive in the US, though you probably won't get as good a price.

Wow, I hope the rate is that good when I go in Oct! I'll exchange USDs once I get to the city, but do you have any tips on getting from EZE to Recoleta? Will I need to change some money at the airport for the cab ride?

You will get horribly ripped off at the airport. Probably only a third of the rate you can get on the black market.

If people want I can bring back Pesos for that situation. You'll need a few hundred to get to your hotel and then to Once.

That $33 versus about $100 at the ripoff airport changers.
