I'd still need to find a place for the other stuff, just wondering if it's worth an extra stop to go there.

Also, am I making a mistake by planning to go places by taxi (or metro?) instead of renting my own car?
Taxis are very cheap and they are everywhere.  Parking is a pain.

That's what I figured.  Similar to Brazil.

Tate kosher its a shop next door to the yeshiva on aguero they have dips and challa nothing else ready made
not close to any shabbos food there, its a small garage turned into a store.
For challah and pastries i would suggest malena bakery.

are there any decent hotels walking distance to the jewish area? I prefer starwood properties but read earlier in the thread that they are far and I would pay more for location,

i would say its a bit more expesive than brazil but its still cheap.
unlike brazil in bueos aires almost everything is located within a few minutes drive most kosher stores and resturants are in 'once' and all pretty much walking distance from each other

These are the two top kosher restaurants in BA.
http://www.tucsonrestaurante.com.ar
http://www.asiankosher.com

Enjoy buenos aires as the most european-style city in South America.
Check out the port "Puerto Maderos" lined with cafes, hotels and shops, check out "Florida" an all pedestrian street with artisans and flee markets after sunset.
Take a boat ride at Tigre's Delta river, and enjoy a picnic or BBQ by the water.
Is the kosher Tucson restaurant closed now?
Any recommendation for getting to Tigre Delta with a baby and which boat to go with?

Terrible pizza and empanadas IMHO (though in fairness the empanadas seemed spoiled  :P, but the ravioli and gnocci with the red pesto sauce were good.

What are alfajores?  Is that a dulce-de-leche pastry?

Is it all about the food? Have you had time for anything else while you're there?
