If you're not blown away by those then you have defective taste buds or they changed their chef.
Pastrami steak is good as well.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Is it possible the chef wasnt there? We went in the afternoon. Looked like just kitchen staff was doing the cooking.

Just spoke to an Argentinian guy that I met over shabbos in punta and he said they did in fact change the chef recently. That really stinks. Now I know I missed out on awesome food.

It must have been really recent. I was there in November and I thought the food was amazing.

We went back to asian tonight to give it another try. We got the kids meal for our son which included chicken fingers and I asked for the sauce that's on the chicken finger appetizer (Mongolian sauce) and I have to say that was an amazing sauce.

We got the rib steak for two as the main and the waiter explained that the reason for my well done steak on Monday was that medium in Argentina is the equivalent of well done in the states. With that in mind, I told him to just bring me a live cow and I got my steak the way I wanted it. However, I don't know if it's the new chef but it was certainly not mind blowing. I've had better steaks in New York and the steak in el galope was also better in my opinion. Although el galope puts nothing on their steak, ask any true steak lover and they'd agree a good steak needs nothing more than some salt and maybe a little pepper. El galope cooked my steak the way I wanted it and it melted in my mouth.

I wrote to the owner before coming and he said it wouldn't be possible to get the roasted beef or the Thai beef salad so that was disappointing since I really wanted to try those.

For a drink, we got the caiparinhas with passion fruit and orange (menu says either or) and it was absolutely incredible.

One thing nobody mentioned (maybe nobody knows so this is a good tip for those coming in the future) is that they give you a ten percent discount when paying cash. Since everyone on this forum is getting the blue market rate, I assume everyone is paying in cash. They even gave me another ten percent off to make up for the first time!

Overall, our experience tonight was far better than the experience Monday afternoon but i was still not blown away. I hope they get back a better chef to change it back to the restaurant everyone describes.

Yes. Although I have read reports of people passing by the border to the Brazilian side without having a Brazilian visa, according to my experience, I wouldn't risk it.

I was very recently at the border at iguazu. It does make a lot of sense that you could easily get into Brazil without a visa. The process is like this, all cars exiting Argentina go through the border kind of like we have between us and canada. But once u get ur exit stamp, u cross the bridge over into Brazil, and nobody stops you at the border for passport, in order to get a stamp you need to park, get out of the car and go inside the border office. But then again, I don't know the process for coming back to Argentina, and probably wouldn't risk it.

Anyone here looking to sell Pesos?
I'm planning to go to BA next week and would like to get enough for the taxi at least so I don't have to get ripped off at the airport.

Two suggestions. Try to pay the driver in US cash, lots of them are eager to give you a great rate, look for the $25-30 range. If that doesn't work you could switch in the airport on the regular rate, without the heavy airport surcharges. The place to change money is after you exit the customs area, but before you come to the arrivals area, the room in between.

Use the hotel car service and settle the bill in cash.

Which taxi service lets you pay the driver? I remember paying upfront at the counter?

Not official taxi. There are tons of people all over terminal that run a taxi service on their own.
