We went back to asian tonight to give it another try. We got the kids meal for our son which included chicken fingers and I asked for the sauce that's on the chicken finger appetizer (Mongolian sauce) and I have to say that was an amazing sauce.
We got the rib steak for two as the main and the waiter explained that the reason for my well done steak on Monday was that medium in Argentina is the equivalent of well done in the states. With that in mind, I told him to just bring me a live cow and I got my steak the way I wanted it. However, I don't know if it's the new chef but it was certainly not mind blowing. I've had better steaks in New York and the steak in el galope was also better in my opinion. Although el galope puts nothing on their steak, ask any true steak lover and they'd agree a good steak needs nothing more than some salt and maybe a little pepper. El galope cooked my steak the way I wanted it and it melted in my mouth.
I wrote to the owner before coming and he said it wouldn't be possible to get the roasted beef or the Thai beef salad so that was disappointing since I really wanted to try those.
For a drink, we got the caiparinhas with passion fruit and orange (menu says either or) and it was absolutely incredible.
One thing nobody mentioned (maybe nobody knows so this is a good tip for those coming in the future) is that they give you a ten percent discount when paying cash. Since everyone on this forum is getting the blue market rate, I assume everyone is paying in cash. They even gave me another ten percent off to make up for the first time!
Overall, our experience tonight was far better than the experience Monday afternoon but i was still not blown away. I hope they get back a better chef to change it back to the restaurant everyone describes.
