I once ordered Ties from MYHABIT (Amazon company), had an issue with my order, specifically the way they were packaged and shipped. I wasn't happy with the responses I was getting from MYHABIT.  I reached out to Jeff Bezos and received a response, part of which contained:

"I'm Darren Bafus of Amazon.com's Executive Customer Relations. Jeff Bezos received your email and asked me to respond on his behalf…I've forwarded your correspondence to the MYHABIT team directly so they can review it and look into the shipping preparation of these and other related….When and if I hear back from them on any specific changes I'll certainly let you know, as we don't want you having to give up ordering from us. However, given what you experienced, I can certainly understand your current hesitation."

Two days later the mens accessories buyer from MYHABIT reached out to me. Although the ties I had ordered were already sold out, she was able to buy more from the merchant and shipped them overnight. I was of course refunded and not required to return the original ties.  In addition, MYHABIT followed up with me several times over the next month explaining how they would improve their shipping method and asking for my input. Better yet, when Holiday season rolled around I received a handwritten card "thanking me for helping them improve their business" and a $100 MYHABIT gift card/credit.

I am pretty skeptical that Jeff Bezos actually received the email and asked the guy to respond but it is still the best customer service I ever received.

Read the article in Bloomberg about 5 weeks ago about Amazon. It looks like he does read random emails and confront the poor guy who messed up.
