Look also at sofi, and at DR bank.  I used DR bank, and got a great deal.  I can refer you and I'll get a bonus. What will you get? My correspondence proving the rate I got to use as negotiation.

I negotiated with DR bank and sofi at the same time, playing them off against one another.

This has little to do with the opening and closing of accounts but factors whether you have other accounts like retail accounts, auto loans, a mortgage, etc. The more varied your portfolio the higher your score.
Does that mean a student loan could help my score, if I pay it off responsibly?

Does refinancing your student loans count as paying off the 1st loan in full? Wondering about impact on credit score.

A theoretical small increase in your credit score could make sense for paying off the 1st loan, but that may be balanced by a small drop from taking the new loan, which may or may not increase your score as you pay off that new loan.
Anyone with experience who tracked these things?

Quick q..if anyone can help.

If i take out a student loan and pay it quickly will this help my credit?

also whats the minimum i should be taking out , as I'm only using it to boost my credit as I have no loan history.
