Evidently I'm in the minority but I find it nauseating. If you're at a party and there's free pizza, you don't spend your evening trying to eat as much pizza as possible. Take some, enjoy, and move on.
Different scenario. In the party, you're causing the other guests to lose out, and the generous hosts to shell out too much money due to your slovenliness.
In this case, he wrote that the other passengers weren't drinking, he 'paid' for his ticket, and the airline kept on offering it to him w/o him having to schnorr it.
Methinks you wish you could drink Dom as well.

For myself, no doubt.  But it's still entertaining to watch the guy eating/drinking beyond all sane limits :D

He does kind of "justify" it with "only" drinking ~1.5 glasses every hour :)

It sounds better, but i guess when you find out it is over 26 hours...

Interesting to see how EK upgrades pretty readily on one of their 5th freedom routes.

Anyone know of other airlines or other routes that upgrades are easier to come by?

Fabulous post about how this guy (from one of the FT threads) planned his flights for an OTW booking, using different alliances.
Really sets the bar.

Perhaps. I was wondering what the cash pay was to upgrade in his email, but I don't think he wrote it down.

He did. $200 or so, which is awesome.
