LY flights depends what class it is

I understood that LY flight only those that are AA codeshare, which means an aa booked flight, LY is not in the list of qualifying airlines

When I signed up I didn't even have an acct. The page had a link to create a new AA acct. Don't see how they are targeting that.

I signed up for the promotion and am currently in line to earn 4,500 miles with my one-way back to TLV with BA and LY. To get over the 6,000 hump, I just realized I could fly to PBI with Jetblue from JFK and back for around 2,000 miles total which would get me over 6,000 and on to gold. Does anybody see a reason why this wouldn't work?

There are rumblings that this may not be honored, so I would make sure to follow up on FT or MP to ensure that spending extra money to achieve any of the status levels is actually going to do any good.

They just told me that I have the promotion. At first, the woman said it was not being honored but then double checked my AA number and clearly saw the confirmation. It is only eligible on the AA business partners, BA, Iberia, Finnair, etc.
Either way, I would call to make sure you have it and tell them to double check if they say they are not honoring it.
