Group Bookings
« on: August 04, 2010, 12:14:05 AM »
When looking for flights for a group, say 10+ flying domestic, where would the best prices be found? Do the airlines themselves do better prices or is a travel agent the way to go? Or is it best just to book the cheapest fares online?
Any thoughts/experiences are appreciated.

Call the airline group booking desk and be prepared to do some hard negotiating!

I arranged a group booking while in YOEC for 100 guys to go from LAX-JFK some 8 years ago and knocked down the asking price from $375 to $175 plus got some free tickets thrown in as well.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

I found the continental group desk to be very helpful, I arranged a group this year EWR-DTW (round trip) with 45 people, when the price online or a travel agent was aprox. $850, & they gave it to me for aprox. $300

sounds like it would sometimes be worth it to pad your group to make it a group with a couple non flyers if you were shy one or two to qualify

Any tips on what to say to get them to bring down the price? Which airline has more of a chance Jetblue or United? We're a group of 60...TIA

Looking to book a group of 15-20 people from FL to EWR on United. Online prices are $99 RT with at least 9 seats available at this price. Can I do better through a group booking?
