They expire 12-13 months from posting and can typically be extended by 1 more month by emailing Hyatt.

Cannot. Diamond status gets all of the goodies. Club access with breakfast, late checkout, room upgrades etc.

Hmm. The sign up is really the best reason for this card. I got it last sept and will be going to my first Hyatt as a platinum (bc the card) in Maui. I've scowered the web looking to see how hyatts treat platinum members and ther isn't much. The late checkout is nice, but standard. Maybe someone else has experience as a platinum and getting room upgraded...

How late is the checkout. I have a 6pm flight out and would want the room to keep my stuff for as long as possible.

Someone CMIIW, but the official late checkout for platinum is 2pm. But of course that can vary and is not always guaranteed. Confirm at check in and worst case scenario, you can ask them to hold your stuff.

Hyatt Plat is garbage, if you need to book a Hyatt hotel, let me do it for you with my Diamond account. Diamond has some real benefits.
